A moment to celebrate the creative highlights of 2025!
2025 has been quite a ride full of ups, downs, surprises and everything in between. As creatives it’s so necessary to take a break and see how we can evolve. But this time instead of already thinking about the future, let’s first do a little recap in the past on what we created and consumed throughout the year. That’s why, De Grid and I, organized together the Creative Wrap 2025 on Friday, December 12th, a moment to celebrate the creative highlight of 2025! A space for everyone to bring their favorite discoveries, hidden gems, and creative sparks, the songs that kept us going, the visuals that moved us, the ideas that shaped our thinking!
From an idea in my notebook to an actual event
2025 was a very challenging year for me. I had to face unexpected challenges and felt quite lost in my creative process. Having graduated a year prior I was eager to start my professional life. But things didn't go as planned. Without going into details, let’s just say that I craved inspiration and a spark to finish the year strong. I wanted to be stimulated and surrounded by people with the same vision as me. That's what I found at De Grid with Ornella, Liese, and Francisca. They listened to my idea and I saw the spark ignite instantly in their eyes. From then on, we embarked on an adventure and organized Creative Wrap together. I still can't believe that an idea scribbled in my notebook could have led to such a joyful and heartwarming event. By the way, this might be your sign to believe in your idea and pitch it to someone. It might be one of the greatest adventures of your life!
What the helly is Creative Wrap you asking?
Creative Wrap is an end-of-year gathering to pause, reflect and share what’s inspired us as we say goodbye to 2025. We invited everyone to bring their favorite discoveries, hidden gems and creative sparks - from music and visuals to ideas and conversations. Each area on the 5th floor has been designed to offer different small activities to allow everyone to share their highlights in 4 different ways:
Playlist Station
First area: The Auditorium
Kerya from @pmta_community and members from @kulturabrussels took over the auditorium for a friendly musical moment. When Ornella first told me about Kerya and her Pass Me The Aux’s concept, I immediately understood that it would be a perfect fit with our need to bring people together through music. It was therefore a pleasure to invite her to host this event. Then Kerya invites Anne & Ekany members from @kulturabrussels and together with the audience, they create a playlist through a fun conversation about their favorite musical moments of the year 2025.
Podcast Booth
Second area: The Studio
Everyone was invited to step into the studio and grab the mic to spill the tea about their cultural highlights or review some of the best (or worst) music, books, events and trends that caught your attention. Of course, I popped my head in from time to time to listen to snippets of what was being said, and it was just so great!
Collective Archive
Third: The Medialab
We imagined a free space where those who wish can share images that may have made an impact on them in 2025.The idea was to build a collective archive of our favorite visuals, quotes and spots of the year.
Last area: Creative Board or the improvisation zone
Initially, for the fourth area we had planned a Creative Board activity. The idea was to invite those who wished to create their own collage (from magazines, books, pinterest images, screenshots, etc.) about their favorite creative highlights of 2025. But as the evening progressed, Charlotte (the co-host at this station) and I realized that people were looking for something else.Something more simple and genuine. So, we went with the flow. We let ourselves be carried away by the conversations, the card games, and the laughter. We all ended up together, some who knew each other, others who didn't, sitting in a circle, sharing our stories over snacks and drinks. No rules, no exercises.. Just sincere and authentic exchanges. And how wonderful it felt! Yes, the activity I had envisioned didn't happen but another equally beautiful moment took its place.
Ins & Outs
Finally, It was very important to me to end the evening with a collective wrap-up of our ins and outs for 2026. So I invited everyone to gather in the center of the room to share what we want to keep doing or not in 2026 in order to be a better creative. The co-hosts, facilitators, and even guests were keen to share one of their ins and outs. So many inspiring and motivating things were said. If I had to choose one that really resonated with me it would be Lina.H's OUT: “ We need to stop aiming for our moodboards in an “all or nothing” way. By staying open to adapting your inspiration to your own situation, you end up creating something more authentic and personal.” Really good, right? Let’s print this and re-read that as often as needed this year! Thank you Lina, Flora, Hélie, and everyone else for sharing your ins & outs for 2026. I think that was my favorite moment of the evening and I'm smiling just thinking about it.
Everyone on the dance floor!
We got to enjoy an amazing set by @dj.mama_od and @ekanymusic. We danced and laughed all together. You could feel in the atmosphere that it was a safe space.
I even remember Charlotte telling me how good it felt to let loose a little because it had been a while since she'd been out. I hadn't thought of that, but I’m happy to think that Creative Wrap can also be the perfect time to unwind and let go after a busy year.
One more personal note
I am happy to have been able to witness people chilling and enjoying their night. It was pure, chill, fun and intimate. For that I have to thank the amazing women behind De Grid: Lise, Ornella and Francisca for trusting me.
It was also a pleasure to share this with talented creatives and I want to thank them all again: Kerya from @pmta_community, @arxque & @ekanymusic from @kulturabrussels, @chaoltn, @linahdc, and @florarobin.official.
I wish you all a happy new year! Good health, love, friendship, money... And above all, I encourage you to dare to be even more creative!
