Narratives

Stories are at the core of who we are, shaping our identities and communities.
Tshimundu, Sarah Tiflati, and Untold Asian Stories each give voice to narratives that often go unheard—whether through personal reflection, collective experiences, words, or images.

Tshimundu
Tshimundu

Hey, I'm Tshimundu, a Congolese writer based in Brussels. My art has taken many forms, from video and documentary, to podcasts and essays. However, it always starts with streaks of ink on white paper (preferable blue ink). My work is often self-reflective, and recently has looked at the experience of African immigrants in Belgium.

I am currently working on a theatre performance that follows a non-EU person being given a hard time in the Commune. He reflects on his identity and agency in Brussels. It shows from March 21 - 23, 2025 at Zinnema.

BX's creative scene welcomed me on open mic podiums, trading vulnerability for community. My passion is storytelling, and doing it in ones own voice, because there is a community that will only see themselves in the intersection that makes you unique. That is where your gift meets your purpose, which allows you to serve your people.

Untold Asian Stories

Three years ago, the organisation Untold Asian Stories was born to give Asian voices in Belgium a platform to connect with their roots, fellow Asians, and share their stories with the world.

Our mission is to build community among Asian diaspora, where recognition and acknowledgment are central.
We raise awareness among non-Asians about our lived experiences, including anti-Asian racism and discrimination.
Through political, academic, and media lobbying, we advocate for representation and ensure our voices are heard.

We tell Untold Asian Stories, to be heard, understood, and change our structurally unequal society.
At its core, we believe that our fight is interconnected with all systems of oppression and that community and solidarity are central in this broader struggle for justice and collective liberation.
