Can I borrow e-books to read on my e-reader?
You can read the e-books on most e-readers. Only the Kindle e-readers of Amazon are not compatible. A limited number of obsolete e-readers are unusable.
N.B.: you need a computer with internet connection to borrow the e-books and transfer them to your e-reader. Install the cloudLibrary software on your computer to borrow e-books.
Can I borrow e-books and read them on my smartphone or tablet?
Yes, if you can install the cloudLibrary app on your smartphone or tablet. The app is available for iOS (iOS 8 or later), Android (Android 4.1 or later) and also for Amazon tablets (Nook, Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD or Kindle Fire HDX - but not the e-readers).

Can I borrow e-books to read on my computer?
Yes. But you must first install the cloudLibrary software. On Windows PCs, from Windows 7. On Apple computers, from Mac OS 10.6. On all Chromebooks through an app that is available in the Chromestore. On Linux PCs you can read in your web browser via www.yourcloudlibrary.com.

On how many devices can I read e-books?
With one account you can read e-books on seven different devices.
Borrowing / returning
How many e-books can I borrow?
You can borrow three e-books at a time.
What is the loan period for an e-book?
The loan period is three weeks. You can't renew, but you can't return too late either.
How do I return an e-book?
The e-book automatically disappears from your library after three weeks. If you want to return it earlier, you can do so by using the ‘return’ button.
Do the e-books disappear automatically from my device when the loan period expires?
Yes, the return of the e-bools takes place fully automatically. If you wish to return them earlier, you can do so by using the ‘return’ button.
Do I pay a late fee if I return the book too late?
Since you cannot return it overdue, you will never need to pay a fine. After three weeks, the book is automatically removed from your library.
Can I read an e-book abroad?
Yes. But you will need an internet connection to download a book.
Reservations
How many e-books can one borrower reserve?
You can reserve up to three e-books.
Are reservations free of charge?
Yes.
How long does a reservation remain available?
A reservation stays available for three days. When a reserved e-book becomes available and you have borrowed fewer than three titles, the a-book is automatically lent to you.
Why can’t I reserve some e-books?
You can only reserve e-books from the library of which you are a member.
Renewals
Can I extend my loan period? How many times? Is it free of charge?
You cannot extend the loan period. If you have not finished reading your e-book after three weeks and no one has reserved it, you can immediately borrow it again.
Collection
Why can’t I find a particular e-book?
The digital collection has been compiled by the five participating libraries. The collection naturally does not include all the e-books on the market, but a paper version of the book you seek may be available in the library.
Can I make a suggestion for a book acquisition?
Yes, just as with the paper collection, you can also make purchase suggestions for e-books in the library where you are a member.
